Mahalo @pbshawaii for having me on INSIGHTS for the District 37 Candidate Forum! I’m grateful to engage in thoughtful discussion about what our community and state can accomplish when we work together 💙
Some highlights for me:
▶️ Sharing what motivates me to serve my community and why I work so hard to ensure all voices in our district are heard, represented, and valued
▶️ Talking about our efforts to increase civic participation among our youth and how to get young people excited about our political process
▶️ Sharing my ideas for what the Legislature can do to help working families and stimulate our economy beyond the historic tax relief measures, which I supported this past session
Every member of our community, from our keiki to kūpuna, deserves to feel safe and protected from crime.
As your Representative, I’ve increased our district’s collaboration with law enforcement to implement community policing and advocated for evidence-based policies that address the root causes of crime and homelessness. With your support and input, I pledge to continue fighting for innovative solutions that reduce crime, increase neighborhood safety, and fund public safety programs that actually work.
Together, we can ensure our community remains the best place to live and raise our families.
12 years ago, I met Governor Green (he was a state senator then) at a public health conference. Little did I know that meeting him would set me on a path to where I am today, having the privilege to serve my community and fight for the issues I believe in.
Governor Green, I wouldn’t be here without you and I can’t thank you enough for this endorsement. You’ve always been there for me and I am so grateful for your support, mentorship, and leadership. 💙
Feeling more determined than ever after our incredible Community Campaign Rally yesterday 💙
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to all the volunteers, supporters, friends, and my family who went above and beyond to make this day happen. Thank you to everyone who came out to engage and learn what our campaign is all about. Your support truly embodies the spirit of our movement, and is a testament to why our district is the best place to live — because when we come together as a community, we can achieve so much.
A special mahalo to Governor Green, Rep. Sean Quinlan, Rep. Chris Todd, and Councilmember Radiant Cordero for coming! Mahalo to Joe and Shannon for emceeing. And mahalo to my extended ʻohana Uncle Bobby and Uncle Vic for coming out and supporting.
Our kids deserve the best possible start to life that we can provide through high-quality education and childcare.
As your Representative, I’ve fought hard for policies that support our students and teachers both in and out of the classroom. When school bus services to our district were suddenly canceled last summer, we quickly convened the community so the DOE could hear directly from affected families. Working together, we restored the bus routes within a month.
My commitment to our keiki is to ensure our district is the best place to learn and grow up, so they can hopefully raise their own kids in our community one day.
Our community is made up of amazing people like Aunty Lourdes - and I’m so grateful to have her support.
A long-time Mililani resident and nurse, I first met Lourdes in 2023 when she contacted my office for help removing a tree that was at risk of falling into her yard. She had requested the city remove the tree since 2020, but delay after delay left her feeling unheard. My office worked with the City Department of Urban Forestry to come and trim the tree within a month of Lourdes reaching out.
I am proud to have the support of Lourdes and her family who know they can count on me as their Representative to find solutions to problems, whether large or small. Mahalo for your support and the beautiful haku lei, Aunty!
Public safety. Education and child care. Affordable housing. These are the most pressing issues facing our community that I work hard on as your State Representative, and I’m not giving up any time soon.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my perspectives on these issues during the Joint Meeting of Neighborhood Boards 25 and 35 last night. I am committed to ensuring every voice in our community is heard and reflected in the policies we pursue in the Legislature. From securing funding for our schools to increasing workforce development programming, there is so much progress we can make when our community comes together.💙
Over the moon to share that we’ve well surpassed the 15-signature requirement for my candidacy for the State House! A huge thank you to our community members for helping us fill every single page. Next ➡️ filing our candidate papers w the Office of Elections! Woot, here we go! 💙🙌🏻
Candidate papers filed and first group sign-waving event? ✅✅
Mahalo nui to everyone who joined us last night at Meheula, by 16 Acres! It was an amazing way to end the day after officially filing my candidate papers at the State Office of Elections. I am so grateful for the support of my neighbors, friends, pets (!) and family who are uniting behind our grassroots, community-first campaign. 💙
